Hugh Polder is a gifted craftsman who is equally at home with aviation, marine or portrait works. His boyhood days during WWII were filled with images of heavy naval traffic (L.S.T.'s, Minesweepers, etc.) on the Ohio River and fascinating aircraft from nearby Lunken Airport. Later attending the Central Academy of Commercial Art and the Gephart School of Portrait Painting, he has been active in the Airforce Art Program, exhibits at galleries around the United States including the Experimental Aircraft Museum, and has had commissions and prints sold internationally. Having been a freelance artist since 1964, he has won many awards for his superb renditions. He and his gracious wife have 4 sons and have resided in Chicago for the past 35 years. Besides being a talented artist, Hugh has a wonderful personality and his works are a most welcome addition to the B.C.I. Collection!
