The long-lived T-33 trainer is shown in a classic posture, pulling into a loop over a prairie landscape. Over 650 of these Lockheed-designed machines were produced by Canadair in the 1950s and a respectable number were still giving good service with the Canadian Forces in 1994. Officially named the Silver Star by the RCAF, this popular aircraft was much better known as the T-Bird to those who maintained and flew them.

It was also the mount of the RCAF's famous solo aerobat "The Red Knight" but for most RCAF pilots it is fondly recalled as their first introduction to jet powered flight. Best remembered in its familiar silver finish, Don's painting demonstrates the sleek fighter-like appearance of this famous aircraft, which, along with its wonderful agility, made the T-Bird an all-time favorite.
