Brian Withams is a long-standing founder member of the prestigious guild of Aviation Artists in England. His aviation and marine art is in great demand on an international scale and his realistic, classic painting style is a joy to behold. He and Mac worked very closely on this work and Mac was delighted with the result. They traveled together to Canada in early November 1989 to attend to the official signing of the prints and were able to visit Mac's former Sqn. Leader of 247 Sqn., Canadian Peter O'Brian, now retired in Toronto. The original painting has been donated to the 501 Sqn. Pilots Association.
Brian spent 2 years in Canada in the 50's and worked on the CF-105 Avro Arrow. Painting mainly in oils, his originals can be found in several museums and exhibitions. With his eldest son flying Phantoms in the R.A.F., aviation is a family concern. B.C.I. is extremely pleased to be able to publish these fine examples of his work.
