Handley-Page Hampden

Built for offence

The Hampden was seriously under-armed for defence. Note the upper gun turret that was equipped with only one .303 machine gun (of a total of four, of which one was fixed and mounted beside the pilot, requirring the pilot to turn the aircraft to aim).
