CMF Press Releases October 19, 2006 VETERANS REMEMBERED Each Remembrance Day is an opportunity to recognize and to learn about the contributions and sacrifices of Canada’s veterans. This year the Canadian Museum of Flight located at the Langley Airport is proud to honor veterans of all branches of Canada’s Armed Forces with a display of uniforms and other artefacts from World War II and the early Cold War years. This collection of historic items preserved by former Langley Mayor George Preston was previously displayed at his local car dealership each year leading up to Remembrance Day. In addition to operational equipment from the army, navy, and air force the collection features wartime uniforms from the women’s services and ceremonial items such as swords and presentation plates. We would like to invite all veterans to visit the museum at no charge during the week of Remembrance Day – Saturday November 5 to Sunday 12 and to share their experiences with our visitors and volunteers. The museum is very pleased to be able to continue this local tradition and we would like to extend our thanks to the Preston family and all the staff at Preston Chev-Olds. ---30--- For more information contact: Sandy Sideroff – Executive Director Canadian Museum of Flight Hangar # 3 – 5333 216 Street Langley, BC V2Y 2N3 Phone 604-532-0035 Email: museum@direct.ca August 22, 2005 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE On Sunday August 21, 2005, a vintage 1940 Fleet 16B Finch aircraft belonging to the Canadian Museum of Flight suffered moderate damage after the aircraft flipped while landing at the Langley airport.
